so this is the finished dragon piece..
thanks to :iconp3dy: for suggesting the colors of the dragon! <3

On a second note:
I don't know what to think of this, actually.
I struggle so much with colors and details these days, it's like i haven't yet found the right brush that works best for me, digitally, it's like no brush I have does what I'd like. And unfortunately the possibilities if editing brushes in painter are kinda limited. Any suggestions, maybe?
Don't suggest me to use photoshop, please, it doesn't work well with my graphic tablet so that's no alternative.
Thanks.

whoa, this is so beautiful-
I like the colors, they make everything so...majestic.
The fishy face of the dragon is also very cute :D

Even better! You say you aren't satisfied, well, I think you should. You've started painting digitally from not so much time, and I see this as an even better improvement from your firsts drawings!
Remember that artists are never satisfied with their work.

Oh, you can give a try with TheGimp, I use it and you can assign the tablet and pen pressure to various aspect of the brush, and even assign different instruments to the "erasing gum", if you have it on top of the pen-thing.

Oh nonono, Gimp and I are enemies, we hate each other to the bone :P
I tried Gimp when my Photoshop didn't work ( for photo editing, ofcourse) and I got so frustrated after a while that I threw it all away and deleted the programme :P

You're right but sometimes i paint and then go " hmm yea, I did good in this, I think." but this time it's just far from that.. far from what I expected.

Hah, well, question of tastes ^^

What don't you like about this one? Shape or coloring?

The shape is great, I love it. The coloring is what bothers me. The lack of detail, the shading... idk. A lot of things. I originally aimed for something natural but it doesn't quite match my oirignal idea and that's frustrating.

Well, so why don't you try again? ^^ Use some lizard/crocodyles references, try working on shards/flakes (idk the name, the skin) one by one!
If you have time, of course...
